    A characterization of metacirculants

    Get PDF
AbstractMetacirculants were introduced by Alspach and Parsons in 1982 and have been a rich source of various topics since then, including the Hamiltonian path problem in metacirculants. A metacirculant has a vertex-transitive metacyclic subgroup of automorphisms, and a long-standing interesting question in the area is if the converse statement is true, namely, whether a graph with a vertex-transitive metacyclic automorphism group is a metacirculant. We shall answer this question in the negative, and then present a classification of cubic metacirculants

Universal non-resonant explanation to charmoniumlike structures Zc(3885)Z_c(3885) and Zc(4025)Z_c(4025)

Different from the usual tetraquark assignment to charged Zc(3885)Z_c(3885) and Zc(4025)Z_c(4025) charmoniumlike structures, in this letter we propose a universal non-resonant explanation to decode these ZcZ_c's, which is based on a special dynamical behavior of e+e−→D(∗)Dˉ∗πe^+e^-\to D^{(*)}\bar{D}^*\pi. Our study shows that Zc(3885)Z_c(3885) and Zc(4025)Z_c(4025) are only the reflection from the PP-wave charmed meson D1(2420)D_1(2420) involved in e+e−→D(∗)Dˉ∗πe^+e^-\to D^{(*)}\bar{D}^*\pi. Obviously, the present work provides a unique perspective, which can be examined by future experiments like BESIII and BelleII.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures and 1 table. Accepted by Eur. Phys. J.

Effects of esculentoside A on turnour necrosis factor production by mice peritoneal macrophages

Esculentoside A (EsA) is a saponin isolated from the roots of Phytolacca esculenta. Previous experiments showed that it had strong anti-inflammatory effects. Tumour necrosis factor (TNF) is an important inflammatory mediator. In order to study the mechanism of the anti-inflammatory effect of EsA, it was determined whether TNF production from macrophages was altered by EsA under lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulated conditions. EsA was found to decrease both extracellular and cell associated TNF production in a dose dependent manner at concentrations higher than 1 μmol/l EsA. Previous studies have showed that EsA reduced the releasing of platelet activating factor (PAF) from rat macrophages. The reducing effects of EsA on the release of TNF and PAF may explain its anti-inflammatory effect

Transcriptional regulation of PIN genes by FOUR LIPS and MYB88 during Arabidopsis root gravitropism

PIN proteins are auxin export carriers that direct intercellular auxin flow and in turn regulate many aspects of plant growth and development including responses to environmental changes. The Arabidopsis R2R3-MYB transcription factor FOUR LIPS (FLP) and its paralogue MYB88 regulate terminal divisions during stomatal development, as well as female reproductive development and stress responses. Here we show that FLP and MYB88 act redundantly but differentially in regulating the transcription of PIN3 and PIN7 in gravity-sensing cells of primary and lateral roots. On the one hand, FLP is involved in responses to gravity stimulation in primary roots, whereas on the other, FLP and MYB88 function complementarily in establishing the gravitropic set-point angles of lateral roots. Our results support a model in which FLP and MYB88 expression specifically determines the temporal-spatial patterns of PIN3 and PIN7 transcription that are closely associated with their preferential functions during root responses to gravity
